Data visualization - 100 Days of Summer

This year, our talented designer Thuy Ngo takes part in the Kantar Information is Beautiful Awards with a data visualization inspired by the Finnish nature and our short summer months.

Summer months in the Nordic countries last only around 3 months, which is approximately 100 days. Inspired by Neil Fletchers book The Easy Wildflower Guide (Aurum Press, 2006), Thuy went on to visualise the blooming cycle of European wildflowers. The plants are divided by name and the colour of their bloom, represented with a dot. The height of the plants correlates with habitat keys within the inner circle and the year is divided into months, with dotted lines representing solstices and equinoxes.
